FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Q: Why should I have a home inspection?

A: The scope of a professional home inspection is limited to a non-invasive, visual and physical examination the home; not a technically exhaustive inspection of every system and component. The purpose of a home inspection is to inform you about the condition of the property you are considering.

Q: How do I book an inspection?

A: You can book a Homeview Home Inspection by calling me at 905-379-9609. You can also submit your request online on our contact page.

Q: How do I cancel or reschedule my appointment?

A: In order to cancel or reschedule your appointment, I require at least 24 hours notification. Please contact me for cancellation or rescheduling requests.

Q: How do I pay for the home inspection?

A: I accept all major credit cards (VISA, MasterCard and AMEX). Other acceptable payment methods are certified cheques, money orders, and bank drafts and cash.

Q. How long does an inspection take?

A. Most inspections average 3 hrs from start to finish. Larger homes, outbuildings or specialty installations will increase the amount of time necessary.

Q. How much will my inspection cost? Are there any hidden fees?

Most inspections are approximately $375.00 + HST. The cost of your inspection is dependent on factors such as the size, age and accessibility of the home. Call or email us today for a quote.

Q: Do I have to attend the home inspection?

A: It’s a good idea to attend the home inspection because any questions you may have can usually be answered on the spot. It’s important for sellers to keep in mind the inspector has not been retained to point out all of the good aspects of the home, and they should not feel offended when the inspector points out a defect or potential defects.

Q: What do I do if significant issues, problems, or defects are discovered through the course for the Home Inspection process?

A: Be proud of yourself for choosing to have a Home Inspection! The Inspector is willing to answer your questions and explain any of the issues, problems, and defects. After that, it is up to you to decide how to proceed, now that you are informed about the condition of the property you are considering. This next step is usually discussed by you and your Realtor. We always recommend obtaining repair cost/estimates from qualified professionals prior to close.
